Energy & Renewables
Offshore wind, grid infrastructure and hydrogen, plus the transition roles in between.
Our view of this market
Energy and renewables is the desk that has changed most in the time we have run it. Five years ago the work was largely conventional power and oil and gas services. Today the majority of our searches sit in offshore wind, grid connection and reinforcement, and an increasing amount of hydrogen and storage work.
The defining feature of this market is that the demand curve arrived before the talent pipeline did. There is a genuine shortage of engineers with offshore wind project experience, and the clients who fill roles are the ones willing to take strong transferable experience from oil and gas, marine or heavy civils and invest in the sector-specific knowledge.
We make that argument constantly, and we back it by presenting transition candidates properly: what maps across, what does not, and what the first six months would realistically require.
