Finance & Legal
Qualified finance, risk and legal professionals for regulated and high-growth businesses.
Our view of this market
Our finance and legal desk covers qualified accountants, risk and compliance specialists, and in-house legal counsel. The common thread is regulation: most of our clients operate somewhere that a mistake carries a fine, and they hire accordingly.
We do not recruit transactional finance. Our work starts at qualified level and runs through to Finance Director and General Counsel, with a significant amount of financial crime, regulatory reporting and commercial contracts work in between. Financial services clients make up around half the desk, with the balance in manufacturing, technology and energy businesses that need genuine sector understanding rather than a generic accountant.
Counter-offers are more common in this sector than any other we handle, and we manage for it deliberately: motivation is tested early, and we would rather lose a placement at week two than at offer stage.
