The role

An engineering consultancy in the South West is expanding its high voltage team to keep pace with grid connection and reinforcement work across the region.

The role covers HV electrical design for substations up to 132kV, including protection and control schemes, earthing studies and equipment specification, along with commissioning support on site during energisation.

The team is fourteen engineers and the work is a genuine mix of design office and site. This is a good role for someone who does not want to be desk-bound.

What you will need

  • Five or more years in high voltage electrical engineering

  • Substation design experience at 33kV and above

  • Protection and control scheme design and setting

  • Familiarity with ENA technical specifications and DNO requirements

  • Earthing and lightning protection study experience

  • Site commissioning and energisation exposure

  • Degree in electrical engineering, chartered or working towards it

  • Full driving licence

What is on offer

  • Salary of £58,000 to £68,000 depending on experience

  • Company car or car allowance

  • Funded route to chartership with a named mentor

  • Company pension at 7% employer contribution

  • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays

  • Private medical cover
