The role

An e-money institution in the City is expanding its financial crime team as transaction volumes grow and the regulatory expectation grows with them. This is a hands-on analyst role rather than a policy one.

The work covers transaction monitoring alert review and escalation, enhanced due diligence on higher-risk customers, sanctions screening investigation and the preparation of suspicious activity reports for the MLRO. You would also feed back into tuning the monitoring rules, which the team has real influence over.

The team is nine people and growing. Two days a week in the office, three from home.

What you will need

  • Two or more years in a financial crime, AML or transaction monitoring role

  • Experience reviewing and escalating monitoring alerts at volume

  • Drafted suspicious activity reports for MLRO review

  • Working knowledge of the UK money laundering regulations and JMLSG guidance

  • Sanctions screening experience and an understanding of what a true match requires

  • Clear written English, since much of the output is written analysis

  • ICA or ACAMS qualification, or a willingness to work towards one

What is on offer

  • Salary of £48,000 to £58,000 depending on experience

  • Three days a week from home

  • Annual bonus of up to 10%

  • Fully funded ICA or ACAMS qualification

  • Private medical cover

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy five more
