Supplier Quality Engineer
EN-2466

The role
This is an eighteen-month fixed-term contract covering a specific supplier development programme for a Yorkshire manufacturer of industrial equipment. The business has identified around forty suppliers whose quality performance needs to improve, and this role owns that programme end to end.
The work is a genuine mix of desk and travel. You would run supplier audits, drive corrective action through 8D, manage PPAP submissions for new parts, and sit down with supplier quality teams to work out why something keeps failing rather than simply logging that it did.
Expect roughly one week in four travelling, mostly UK with some visits into Germany, Poland and Northern Italy. The role reports to the Head of Quality and there is a realistic prospect of a permanent position at the end of the term.
What you will need
Three or more years in supplier quality, quality engineering or a closely related manufacturing quality role
Practical experience running supplier audits against a defined standard
Working knowledge of PPAP, APQP and 8D problem solving
Confident with root cause tools such as fishbone, 5 Why and process mapping
Able to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
Willing to travel around one week in four, including into Europe
Full driving licence and a valid passport
What is on offer
Competitive salary reviewed against your current package
Eighteen-month fixed term with a realistic route to permanent
All travel and accommodation costs covered, plus a daily allowance
Hybrid working when not travelling or auditing
25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pro rata
Company pension at 5% employer contribution
