The role

A consumer products manufacturer in the West Midlands is hiring its first dedicated Demand Planner. Forecasting currently sits with the commercial team and runs on spreadsheets, with the service level and inventory consequences you would expect.

The role owns the statistical forecast, runs the demand review within a new S&OP cycle, and works with sales and marketing to turn commercial intent into a number the supply side can plan against. There is a planning system implementation in the second half of next year that this role will help specify.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain. Three days on site, two from home.

What you will need

  • Two or more years in demand planning or forecasting within manufacturing or FMCG

  • Strong Excel, including the ability to build and maintain a working forecast model

  • Understanding of statistical forecasting methods and when each is appropriate

  • Experience contributing to or running an S&OP or IBP cycle

  • Confident challenging commercial assumptions with evidence

  • Exposure to a planning system such as SAP IBP, Kinaxis or o9 is an advantage

  • APICS CPIM or a willingness to work towards it

What is on offer

  • Competitive salary, benchmarked against your experience

  • Two days a week from home

  • Annual bonus of up to 10%

  • Funded APICS CPIM qualification

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

  • Company pension at 6% employer contribution
