A distribution business operating out of the Port of Rotterdam is hiring a Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist to own an area that has become considerably more complex since 2021 and has been managed reactively since.
The role covers tariff classification and binding tariff information, origin determination and preference claims, customs declarations oversight with the appointed broker, AEO maintenance, and the internal training that keeps commercial teams from creating problems in the first place.
Dutch language is required for the regulatory correspondence. Two days a week from home.
What you will need
Four or more years in customs, trade compliance or a closely related role
Strong tariff classification skills and experience obtaining BTI rulings
Working knowledge of preferential origin rules and supplier declarations
Experience maintaining AEO status through audit
Familiarity with EU customs procedures including special procedures such as IPR and customs warehousing
Fluent Dutch and strong English
Comfortable being the internal authority that other teams come to
What is on offer
Salary of €62,000 to €72,000 depending on experience
