The role
A services group is running a group-wide indirect cost programme and needs an experienced Category Manager on a twelve-month fixed term to lead several of the larger categories through it.
The categories in scope are facilities, professional services and IT, with a combined addressable spend of around £40 million. The work is genuine category management rather than tactical buying: spend analysis, market engagement, sourcing events, negotiation and contract implementation.
Fully remote with quarterly team days in Bristol. Twelve months fixed term, with the programme expected to create permanent roles at the end of it.
What you will need
Five or more years in indirect procurement or category management
Led end-to-end sourcing events with a value above £2 million
Strong commercial negotiation experience with professional services suppliers
Comfortable building a category strategy from spend data rather than assumption
Contract drafting and implementation experience, working with legal
CIPS qualified or equivalent experience
Able to influence senior stakeholders who did not ask for your involvement
What is on offer
Salary of £55,000 to £63,000 depending on experience
Fully remote with quarterly team days in Bristol
Twelve-month fixed term with permanent roles expected to follow
Company pension at 6% employer contribution
25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pro rata
