The role
A Leeds-headquartered healthtech business is standing up its first dedicated data platform team. Until now analytics has been served by a mix of application databases and a good deal of goodwill, and it no longer scales.
You would be the second engineer into the team, working on the warehouse design, the ingestion layer and the transformation models that sit on top. The stack is Snowflake and dbt with Airflow for orchestration, and there is a meaningful amount of greenfield work in the first year.
The role is fully remote within the UK. The team meets in Leeds one day a month, and the business will cover travel for it.
What you will need
Three or more years building and running production data pipelines
Strong SQL, including performance tuning against a columnar warehouse
Python for data engineering work, with proper testing and code review habits
Hands-on dbt experience, including model design and incremental strategies
Experience with a cloud warehouse, Snowflake preferred but BigQuery or Redshift accepted
Comfortable with orchestration tooling such as Airflow, Dagster or Prefect
An understanding of handling sensitive personal data and what that obliges you to do
What is on offer
Salary of £60,000 to £70,000
Fully remote within the UK, with one funded team day a month in Leeds
£1,500 annual learning budget
Company pension at 6% employer contribution
27 days holiday plus bank holidays
Home working setup allowance of £750
