The role
A GMP analytical laboratory in Glasgow needs a QC Analyst for nine months to cover maternity leave. This is a genuine opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with a year or two of laboratory experience to get regulated industry exposure on their CV.
You would run routine analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples and finished product, primarily by HPLC and UV, working to established methods. Full training on the site systems is provided and you would not be expected to arrive knowing them.
Standard day shift, Monday to Friday. The laboratory has taken on two of its last three temporary analysts permanently.
What you will need
Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science or a closely related subject
Practical laboratory experience, whether from industry, a placement year or a final-year project
Some exposure to HPLC, ideally including sample preparation
Careful, legible documentation habits and an understanding of why they matter
Able to follow written procedures precisely
Available to start within four weeks
What is on offer
Salary from £28,000, pro rata for the nine-month term
Full training on site systems and analytical methods
Genuine track record of converting temporary analysts to permanent
On-site parking and subsidised canteen
Standard Monday to Friday day shift
